This Honey-Glazed BBQ Ham combines the smoky richness of JD’s Smokin' BBQ Sauce with the sweetness of honey, creating a beautifully balanced glaze that's perfect for your festive meal. The result is a tender, flavorful ham with a perfect balance of savory and sweet, making it an unforgettable centerpiece. Serve it alongside mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a vibrant salad for a delicious, crowd-pleasing feast.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bone-in ham (8-10 lbs)

  • 1/4 cup JD's Smokin' BBQ Sauce ( for a spicier kick this is also great with JD’s Pyro Pineapple Sauce)

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional for added warmth)

  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Place the ham on a roasting pan, fat side up, and score the surface with a sharp knife in a crisscross pattern to help the glaze penetrate.

  2. Prepare the Glaze:

    • In a medium saucepan, combine JD’s Smokin' BBQ Sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cloves. Heat over medium heat, whisking until the glaze is smooth and slightly thickened (about 5 minutes). Taste and adjust with salt and pepper.

  3. Glaze the Ham:

    • Brush a generous amount of the glaze over the surface of the ham. Be sure to cover all the scored areas. Reserve some glaze for basting during roasting and to serve alongside the ham.

  4. Roast the Ham:

    • Roast the ham in the preheated oven, basting it with the glaze every 20-30 minutes. Roast for about 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).

  5. Finish with a Final Glaze:

    • In the last 15 minutes of roasting, brush the ham with the remaining glaze for a shiny, caramelized finish.

  6. Rest and Serve:

    • Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing. Serve with additional glaze on the side.
